Terminal tools & logging

SSH tab and content menus also provide Copy Local IP Address and Copy Remote IP Address. They copy to the system clipboard without sending terminal input, and are disabled without a connection. They use the same actual connection endpoints as the paste actions below.

Context menu and mouse reporting

Right-click terminal content for its menu. When vim, tmux or another program enables mouse reporting, use Shift+right-click for the host menu, Shift+drag for local selection and Shift+wheel for local scrollback.

Paste connection IPs

Paste Local IP Address and Paste Remote IP Address appear at the top of the menu.

  • The local address is the address actually used by this TCP connection. It may belong to a VPN or virtual adapter rather than your public Internet address.
  • The remote address is the connected peer. A hostname produces the address actually resolved and used.
  • Only the IP is pasted, without a port or newline. No command is executed automatically.
  • Both items remain visible but disabled when disconnected or when endpoint addresses are unavailable.

Selection, clipboard and Find

Use Ctrl+Shift+F for Find. Output already removed by scrollback limits is unavailable. Multiline pastes require confirmation; cancellation sends nothing. A single text paste is limited to 1 MiB in UTF-8 bytes.

Logging and export

Choose Terminal log → Start logging and a file to record output. Stop logging stops appending.

Logs contain UTF-8 output with terminal control sequences filtered out, rather than a complete screen recording. Remote input echoed back to the terminal is output too. Logging starts only when explicitly enabled.

Save terminal output saves the retained contents. To Text Editor exports the selection or all retained output and opens an editor. SSH scrollback is held in memory by default; use these actions when you need a saved copy.

Clear, reset and connection control

Clear the screen, scrollback or both. Reset terminal state resets the local emulator without rebuilding the SSH connection. Send Break sends a protocol request; the server and remote program determine its effect.

The menu also provides Disconnect, Reconnect and Full Screen. After disconnection, retained output can still be selected and copied, but terminal input is disabled.

Send Key Input To selects connected target terminals. The source shows the targets until forwarding is stopped. Committed keyboard/IME input and confirmed pastes are forwarded; mouse events and authentication data are not.

Search on Web opens the selected text in your chosen search engine. Check the selection before sending it to that website.

Drag selection across screens

Hold the left mouse button and drag to the top or bottom edge to scroll through retained output while extending the selection. Scrolling continues with a stationary pointer and stops on release, focus loss, or reaching the history boundary. Use Shift+drag when the remote program owns mouse input. Copying preserves the current viewport. This also applies to split and detached terminals.
